4.1) Reason for obtaining a firearm license: < The reason I want a firearm license is due to the fact that medics always seem to be getting kidnapped, left and right. Theres a rule in the LS-EMS that we cannot carry weapons on-duty, but having a weapon off-duty will be - very - handy, and it will keep me protected which is the main reason I want it. I am in the LS-EMS to save lives, not to lose my own.

Personally, I've already had two attempts to kidnap me by some people who, just walking by them, appear to be regular civilians. People are vicious, and these days people will do anything for money. Holding a medic hostage is definitely one of the things they can do because they'll have access to the Departmentwide radio, which gives them a good way of contacting PD for a ransom.
